Congratulations OEMHL AAA Major Midget League champions!

It took four years, but we are now the regular season OEMHL AAA Major Midget League champions! On Sunday evening, our Gold Boys team was awarded the regular season trophy before their game against Ottawa Valley. With two games remaining, the team clinched the league title (over the previous champion Ottawa 67s)  based on overall season points. This means the Gold Boys will headed into the playoffs this weekend as the number one seed. Their semi-final opponent is the Ottawa Senators (we were 2-0-2 against them in the regular season). The playoffs begin Saturday at 6PM at the Benson Centre. It is a 7-point series alternating between Cornwall and Ottawa. The OEMHL website gives the exact dates and time (and results).

Pictured here at the trophy presentation from left to right are: Alex White, Cody McDermott, John Murray (OEMHL Midget Coordinator), Zach Pease, and Pierre Ouellette.

Good luck boys!

Another clash of the titans: Boys Gold vs Boys Maroon

On Friday night, February 10, 2012, our boys Gold and Maroon teams clashed yet again at the Civic Complex. The final score was 6-1 in favor of the Gold team.

Here to provide a first hand commentary I have Cody McDermott, who plays right wing on the Gold team. All his fellow players contributed to the victory, says Cody. A highlight of the game for him was that his parents were there! They were around to support him all weekend. They were especially proud of him during this game as he had a goal and two assists.

"The Maroon team put up a good effort," said Cody. "On the ice we battle, but when the game is over the past is the past and we are all friends again." Wise words! Thank you, Cody. And thanks, Jason Setnyk for the photos.

Girls White lose one to the Cornwall Typhoons

Last night, the Girls White played the Cornwall Typhoons. They played well and gave a good fight. But, they found it tough to score against the Typhoon goalie who was having a "hot" night according to OHA assistant coach, Josh Harrison. In the end, they lost 3-1.

Thanks, Jason Setnyk, for the awesome photos!
