Earlier, I announced that our students would participate in a food drive on Halloween evening to benefit the Agapè Centre. Well,... it was a great success!
All six teams loaded up in the buses and headed out to the Cornwall neighborhoods. The kids wore their team jerseys and did a very good job of representing OHA. It was a beautiful, warm night to be walking around. In total, nearly 2000 non-perishable food items were collected to help feed people in need in Cornwall. We are so proud to have our Mavericks support the local community in this way.
The teams competed against each other to see who could collect the most food. And the winners were the girls maroon and boys white teams.
All of the kids were very excited, and the home owners who provided the food seemed happy to participate and help out a good cause. Agapè Centre came to collect the food the very next morning.
