Over the Thanksgiving weekend, a busload of Mavericks headed out east to participate in the Atlantic Division Challenge Cup, where teams from Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia competed. AJ Rooney and Brandon Short played for the Newfoundland and Labrador U16 team, which won gold in the final game against PEI (thanks to Bonnie Rooney who just sent in this wonderful photo of AJ and Brandon celebrating their victory). Pat Smith played for the PEI U16 team. Chris Sarault, Chris Becker, and Will Thompson played for the New Brunswick U15 team, which lost to Nova Scotia in the finals.
